Base Plate
A base plate used in scaffolding is a load-bearing component placed at the bottom of scaffold standards to distribute the load safely to the ground. It is usually made of steel and consists of a flat plate with a central spigot or socket that holds the vertical scaffold tube in position. The base plate spreads the weight of the scaffold over a larger area, helping to prevent sinking, slipping, or uneven settlement, especially on soft or uneven ground. Base plates are commonly used together with sole boards to improve stability and ensure the scaffold stands level and secure.
